Platform Owners are the visioneers behind the platform. They bring it to life. Create the idea and bring it into reality.
PLAYER 2
PLAYER 2Stakeholders
A player that has a specific interest in the platforms success or failure. In controlling the platforms externalities or concequences. Normally these players are impacted by the negative or positive side effects of the platform
PLAYER 3
PLAYER 3Partners
The Partner players are entities that collaborate with the Platform Owners to strengthen relationships. In the example of Porch.com the partner player that created exponential growth was Lowes who brought their relationships with thousands of Peer Producers: local home improvement pros.
PLAYERS 4 & 5
PLAYERS 4 & 5Peers - Producers & Consumers
The Peer Producers provide the core unit of value, the supply side of the ecosystem. The Peer Consumers are the demand side, they access the core unit of value provided by the platform. In the example of Airbnb, producers (property owners) supply accommodations (core unit of value) for rent and the consumers access them (demand). The marketplace facilitates a reliable place to vet and escrow transaction money making several channels frictionless for both parties but it didn’t start out that way, it went through many pivots.
